#3. Article Read: Digital Tools Evolving to Track Students' Emotions

Technology has expanded to the point where it has became a race in the education industry to have personalized learning experiences for students. Having a computer able to gather information and adapt to a student's "mindset" is becoming more of a thing as time goes on. Combining eye-tracking and speech-recognition along with other innovations that can "read" a person's emotions and actions is making understanding a student's learning process much more manageable. However, this will take years for a large amount of schools to implement this technology within their systems. Organizations, like MIND Research Institute, are trying to push this technology into education software and systems.

I do find this type of technology interesting and difficult at the same time. Interesting in the fact that a software can "read" someone's movements and speech to determine how they are feeling. With that in mind, the microchip can send that information to a different software to change or emphasize an aspect in an application that the same person is using. I claim that this technology is difficult for a couple of reasons. First, the simplest one, the knowledge needed to create this technology is beyond many people's grasp of thought. Second, managing the hardware and some software parts to this technology could cause some teachers to fall behind in teaching their courses due to equipment issues. Lastly, following up on the author's thoughts, to convince education systems that this technology will improve students' learning process and scores will prove to be a hard battle against the methods already placed within the schools.
